Dr. Avery serves on the Grass Valley School District School Board as well as the Board of Directors of The Friendship Club. Dr. Avery can annually be found giving presentations to classrooms full of children regarding the veterinary profession.

Inger Avery, Dr. Avery's wife, is President of the Grass Valley Schools Foundation for Arts and Science which serves to enrich Grass Valley Schools education through private donations in the form of grants. If you have seen FTLOP flying American flags in front of our office (or for that matter, throughout Grass Valley), you are seeing the Flags of the Foothills, which is a fundraising effort for Grass Valley Schools Foundation for Arts and Science.
