Rattlesnake Avoidance Training

Training your dog to avoid snakes, especially venomous snakes is a good idea. We all know that when we have our dogs out with us, they tend to drift a little from our side and we cannot always see what they are doing or getting in to. The other thing to consider is this: we are not typically close to a veterinary facility when we have our dogs with us in rural settings enjoying nature and snake bites require immediate medical attention, especially if a pet is bit in the face/nose, which is most common. This is where avoidance training comes in. Training your dog to avoid getting bit altogether is a much safer option than hoping treatments post-bite work.
