FTLOP is looking to for a Bather for our Grooming salon. The candidate must be experienced, drug-free and must love working with cats and dog and accept the fact that they are going to get wet. Job responsibilities include washing and drying as well as performing toenail trims. You MUST be able to trim toenails.

Job Title:  Bather

 Department:  Grooming Staff

 Reports to:  Rob Avery, DVM, Office Manager, Groomer

 Job Summary: 

The Bather shall be responsible for the bathing and drying of all patients scheduled for grooming.  The Bather will also participate in the cleaning of the grooming facility, including but not limited to cages, laundry, floors, etc.  The Bather shall assist the Groomer in any way required by the Groomer, including but not limited to restraining animals for grooming, inventory supplies, etc.

 Essential Functions:

 Bathe & dry all dogs & cats

  • Computer input
  • Reminder calls
  • Identify patients with corresponding shampoo treatment on white board
  • Help restrain patients during grooming
  • Wash grooming laundry
  • General clean-up
  • Refill shampoo bottles
  • Assist Groomer in identifying to veterinary staff the patients in need of vaccinations, Heartworm tests, etc.

Other Duties:

 Intake/release patients to clientele

  • Inventory shampoo stock
  • Clean equipment (Hydo-Surge, bathtub, etc.)
  • File patient cards
  • Other duties as needed

Dress Code:

  • Clean, washable outerwear

Supervisory Responsibility:

 None

Education and/or Experience

 DESIREABLE:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Familiarity and comfort with handling of dogs and cats

Skills Required

  • Patience
  • Team Player

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift 50+ lb
  • Long hours standing and bending over
